    If you don’t have a proofing box, you can create a homemade proofing environment using your oven or microwave as follows:

    1. Using the Oven:

    – Lightly preheat the oven: Warm it up to the lowest possible temperature (around 40°C or 100°F) for 1-2 minutes, then turn it off. The goal is to create a warm, not hot, environment.

    – Place a container of hot water: Set a container of hot water on the bottom rack of the oven. The steam will help maintain the ideal humidity and temperature.

    – Place the dough: Put the dough on a tray inside the turned-off oven. Keep the door closed to retain the warmth and moisture.

    2. Using the Microwave:

    – Heat a cup of water:Fill a microwave-safe cup with water and heat it on high power for 2-3 minutes.

    – Place the dough in the microwave: Remove the cup of water and place the dough inside the microwave. Don’t turn the microwave on; simply close the door. The residual heat and moisture will provide a good environment for proofing.

    3. Warm Environment Method:

    – If your kitchen has a warm spot or if you live in a warm climate, you can simply cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest in a draft-free area. To maintain the temperature, you can place the dough near a gentle heat source like a radiator or on top of the refrigerator.

    These homemade methods can help you create conditions similar to a proofing box, allowing your doughnuts to rise properly.
