Today, my toddler and I baked double chocolate chip muffins. She loved it and she ate far too many chocolate chips. These muffins will go into the freezer (we made 12) and taken out one and a half hours before serving.

How fun!
t’s great to see little ones enjoying baking. Freezing the muffins is a great way to preserve them. Taking them out an hour and a half before serving should be enough for them to thaw at room temperature and regain their texture.
I’m sure your toddler will love them when they have them again! Was there any special detail in the recipe or any challenges during the process?

@Sussan ScoolinaryTeam Thank you Sussan. This recipe attempts to recreate the viral chocolate muffins given to the athletes at the Olympic Games. They contain more ingredients than normal muffins, including milk powder and a mixture of milk and dark chocolate. I opted not to pipe chocolate ganache into the centres, as in the original recipe. The biggest challenge was dealing with toddler mess – the instant coffee granules missed the bowl in the photo, but it was quick to clean up. My daughter did very well, she is only two and a half years old and already loves baking.

It’s so lovely when kids are involved in the cooking process. I will never forget my cooking experiences as a child. In fact, I remember my very first try at following a recipe: it was with meat burgers 😍
