Hello! I am a beginner and newly joined. I would like to make one of the recipes from the pastry books. My dough hook and my mixer is broken, can i use another attachment or not. I have a hand mixer with dough hooks too, or will that be a lot of work

    Hi Jumaimah Jamil.

Welcome to the Scoolinary community! Thank you for your question.

In this case, we wouldn’t recommend using the dough hooks on your hand mixer for heavier doughs like bread, pizza, or croissants, as the motor in these mixers is not strong enough and could get damaged. The safest option for these types of dough would be to knead them by hand, even if it requires a bit more effort.

On the other hand, for lighter preparations like cake batters, muffins, mousses, or meringues, you can safely use your hand mixer without any issues.

If you need more help or have any other questions, we’re here to assist you.

    Best regards!
