Who is Richard Bies?

From the USA to Barcelona, a creator of fun, appealing and delicious pastry products.

Richard Bies was born and raised in the Southern U.S. and began working in restaurants when he was in high school and began to discover his passion for pastry while in college.

Beginning in Atlanta, Georgia, Richard spent many years working in hotels and restaurants that took him to places like San Francisco and New York and many places in between before finding himself in Barcelona, Spain where he fell in love with the city and has been since 2007.

While running one of the oldest pastry shops in the city, Richard decided to open his own place where he could do something creative, fun and appealing that was missing in Barcelona.

Since 2013, he has been the chef owner of La Donuteria and La Do, where he has been making donuts for a decade.
