Who is Rachel Lo?

I'm a self-taught home cook and baker born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My parents emigrated from Hong Kong to New York City in the 1960's before later moving west.

I spent summers in New York with my grandma who taught me how to make a variety of southern Chinese dishes from scratch. My cooking is also inspired by my upbringing in Los Angeles surrounded by a multitude of cultures, from Mexican to Persian to Korean and more.
In another life as an engineer in San Francisco, I kept a cooking blog, taught children's cooking classes, and occasionally wrote restaurant reviews.

Nowadays, I'm a food content creator with over 250,000 followers - and I'm still shocked that people want to watch my videos! I also teach cooking classes focusing on Chinese ceremonial and holiday foods in Los Angeles.

My content has been featured in The New York Times, KCRW, and Buzzfeed.
