Macarons filled with apple and caramel. I like to keep empty macaron shells in the freezer, so I can make a filling and prep macarons for guests without too much fuss. I always mature my macarons in the fridge overnight. It enhances the taste and the texture.

What a delight! I love the idea of combining the sweet and tart flavor of apple with caramel in macarons. Plus, the trick of storing empty shells in the freezer to always have something ready is very practical, especially when you want to impress your guests without any hassle.
I’m going to try maturing my macarons in the fridge too! It sounds like a simple step that can really take the flavor and texture to the next level.

I haven’t gathered enough courage to give these macarons a try. I guess I’ve heard and read too many times that they’re too complicated. But I’m sure I’ll try soon enough. Promise. Cross my heart🤭

@Sol Damiani I think that you would be surprised to discover how easy they are to make. After all, it’s a simple egg white and sugar meringue, mixed with ground almonds. Even if they don’t look perfect, they will taste wonderful. The magic is really in the filling, coffee is my favourite macaron flavour. So good!
