    Hi Mary.

Yes, it is possible to adapt this type of recipe for an air fryer, but keep in mind that the result will be slightly different from deep-fried chicken, as the hot air won’t create exactly the same crispy texture. Here’s how to adjust it:

    Air Fryer Adaptation:

▪️Preheat the air fryer: Set the temperature to 190°C (375°F) for about 3-5 minutes.

    ▪️ Prepare the chicken:

-Follow the original recipe steps to marinate and coat the chicken with the flour mixture.

-Before placing it in the air fryer, lightly spray the coated chicken with cooking oil spray (this will help achieve a crispier texture). Make sure it’s evenly coated.

    ▪️Cook in the air fryer:

-Place the chicken pieces in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them to allow proper air circulation.

-Cook at 190°C (375°F) for 25-30 minutes, depending on the size of the pieces. Flip the chicken halfway through cooking and spray it again with oil to ensure an even golden brown finish.

▪️Check the internal temperature: Use a kitchen thermometer to confirm the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F) before serving.

    Notes:

° The air fryer is a great way to reduce oil usage and create a healthier version of fried chicken.

° If you prefer an extra crispy coating, you can add some panko (Japanese breadcrumbs) to the flour mixture before coating the chicken.

With these adjustments, you can enjoy a delicious and lighter version of these recipes.

I hope this information is helpful.

    Best regards!
