Best Type of Pot to Use for Frying Donuts on a Gas Stove

Hi Jan.
A good option for frying donuts would be a cast iron or stainless steel pot. Cast iron is excellent because it retains and distributes heat evenly, which is key for consistent frying. Stainless steel pots are also a great choice due to their durability and heat resistance.
Make sure the pot is deep enough to hold a good amount of oil without splattering while frying. This also prevents the donuts from touching the bottom of the pot, which could cause them to burn.
Don’t forget to use a frying thermometer, as it’s essential to keep the oil temperature between 175°C and 190°C for a perfect golden brown without the donuts absorbing too much oil.
